About the Project
For the Grand Strategy Game Hearts of Iron IV: Götterdämmerung we were asked to blend traditional symphonic music with typical WW2 soundtrack elements.
Taking into account musical traditions and early 20th century classical repertoire we wrote peace and war themes for Germany, Belgium, Austria and Hungary, which received the majority of new features in this expansion.
In addition to that we composed several tracks focusing on important gameplay events such as the development and usage of super weapons, commando raids as well as a great empires rising again from the ashes.
To make this production stand out from more recent WW2 soundtracks we decided to record a large 85 piece symphonic orchestra in a classical concert hall to give the music a unique sound, which fitted well to the visions the game developers communicated to us.
